2011 Dr. Irving Fradkin National Chapter of the Year
South Dearborn Dollars for Scholars, Indiana
Congratulations to Indiana's South Dearborn Dollars for Scholars, winner of the 2011 Dr. Irving Fradkin National Chapter of the Year Award! The chapter, which was named the regional Chapter of the Year in Indiana, received an additional monetary award as well as travel expenses to Scholarship America's 50th Anniversary Board of Trustees Meeting, where representatives were presented with their award at our 50th Anniversary dinner.
From their nomination: "The mission of South Dearborn Dollars for Scholars is to promote community service activities, help set academic goals and to provide guidelines that will encourage South Dearborn students to reach for post secondary educational goals."
2011 Regional Chapters of the Year

2011 National Region Dollars for Scholars Chapter of the Year:
Calvin Coolidge Alumni Association, Inc.
"[Our mission is] to provide scholarships for post-secondary education, enhance student life, establish functional programs and activities which will support, and are in accordance with the Washington, DC public school system, provide academic support, career orientation, college preparation and recognize graduates of Calvin Coolidge High School for their professional accomplishments and work with youth and the local community."
2011 Illinois Dollars for Scholars Chapter of the Year:
Maine West Dollars for Scholars
"Our mission shall be to mobilize our community through partnership to help expand access to higher educational opportunities by providing post-secondary scholarships to the students of Maine West High School."
2011 New England Dollars for Scholars Chapter of the Year:
Somerville Mathematics Fund Dollars for Scholars
"The Somerville Mathematics Fund has a mission to celebrate and encourage mathematics achievement in Somerville Massachusetts. As far as we know, we are a unique Dollars for Scholars chapter, focused on mathematics."
2011 New York Dollars for Scholars Chapter of the Year:
Liverpool Dollars for Scholars
"The purpose of the Liverpool Dollars for Scholars Chapter shall be to expand access to higher education for resident students of Liverpool Central Schools in the State of New York, by promoting the Dollars for Scholars Program, developing an operational structure, raising funds for student aid distribution, and distributing awards on a fair and non-discriminatory basis."
The Dream Award
Scholarship America’s Dream Award is a renewable scholarship fund targeted toward completion. These annually-increasing awards will be given to students selected from across the nation who are entering their second year of education beyond high school.
