Mary Wynne, Vice President, Dollars for Scholars

Mary WynneMary Wynne joined Scholarship America as Assistant Vice President, Dollars for Scholars in December 2008, and became Vice President, Dollars for Scholars in June 2012. In her role, Mary leads the Dollars for Scholars program, a network of nearly 700 community-based and volunteer-driven Dollars for Scholars chapters that award scholarships to students in more than 3,000 communities across the nation. In addition, she oversees Collegiate Partners®, a partnership initiative with higher-ed institutions that commit to maximize the impact of private scholarships from Dollars for Scholars and Scholarship America.

Mary has more than 15 years experience in nonprofit leadership. Prior to joining Scholarship America, Mary was the professional development director for the Minnesota Child Care Resource & Referral Network, a statewide nonprofit agency, where she was responsible for program implementation and coordination of service delivery across a variety of organizations and geography. In her role, Mary provided comprehensive program management for four education support programs, including a higher education scholarship program. She also developed and managed an interactive, online learning program, which received national and international recognition by e-learning leaders in the field.

Mary received the Distinguished Leader of the Year award from the Minnesota Early Childhood & School-Age Trainers Association in 2006 and received an Emerging Leader Award from the National Association of Child Care Resource & Referral Agency in 2005. She holds a bachelor of arts degree in English and Spanish from the University of Minnesota.

The Dream Award

Dream Award Scholarship America’s Dream Award is a new multi-year, performance-based scholarship fund targeted toward completion. These renewable, annually-increasing awards will be given to students selected from across the nation who are entering their second year of education beyond high school.
