Joyce Jernigan: Joyce Jernigan loved the time that she spent taking care of children at a local daycare—until it closed down. Fortunately, with the help of Scholarship America's Dreamkeepers Emergency Financial Aid, Joyce has been able to continue her education despite financial hurdles, and is moving closer to her dream of becoming a teacher. Erin O'Flaherty:
Her father, one of the first responders to the cleanup efforts after 9/11, was forced into retirement after contracting a lung disease from prolonged exposure to the rubble. The Families of Freedom Scholarship Fund, administered by Scholarship America, meant that Erin's educational dreams could still go on. Read her story here.
