President's Page
Mim Schreck became interim president of Scholarship America in July of 2009, after serving six years on the Board of Trustees, the last as Chair. Prior to becoming involved with Scholarship America, Schreck served as President of Easy Spirit Footwear, retiring in 2003. Previously, she was President of Bandolino Footwear from 1999- 2001, and Vice President of Nine West Footwear from 1990 until 1999. Schreck became Divisional Vice President of Footwear for Jordan Marsh department store in 1988 after working her way through the system over the previous fourteen years. She began her ascent at Jordan Marsh in November 1976 as a temporary employee during the holiday season. Prior to making her mark in the footwear business, Schreck taught Physical Education and Health at Peabody High School in Massachusetts from 1971 through 1974. Schreck graduated from Russell Sage College with a bachelor’s degree in Physical Education in 1971, and earned a Master of Education in Counseling from Northeastern in 1976. Her affiliations include: the Connecticut Audubon Society, where she is Vice Chairman of the Board and Chairman of the Charity Golf Tournament; Sheppard’s Inc., for which she serves as a mentor for a high school student in Bridgeport, Conn.; and President of Oronoque Country Club. Schreck works primarily from Scholarship America's Minneapolis office, and lives in Connecticut with her husband John, an artist. |
