Scholarship America Names Rhianna Quinn Roddy Executive Director to Lead National Funds and Initiatives

Scholarship America, the nation’s premier nonprofit scholarship and educational support organization, is pleased to announce that Rhianna Quinn Roddy has accepted the position as the organization’s new Executive Director, National Designated Funds and Initiatives.

In her position, Ms. Quinn Roddy will have overall responsibility for the organization’s designated funds and will have primary responsibility for strategic and managerial leadership of the over $100 million dollar Families of Freedom Scholarship Fund. In this critical role, Ms. Quinn Roddy will serve as the point person and public spokesperson to the families, the press, advocates and other political groups and agencies for the Families of Freedom Scholarship Fund as well as other designated funds in the Scholarship America portfolio. Ms. Quinn Roddy will be located in New York City, where she currently resides, and will work closely with advancement, communications, and program staff as part of Scholarship America’s senior leadership team. She will open a Scholarship America office in the city to support the Families of Freedom Fund and other initiatives under her responsibility.

Before joining Scholarship America, Ms. Quinn Roddy held the position of Chief Marketing Officer for Lighthouse International. As a key member of the organization’s executive turnaround team, she helped stem multimillion-dollar losses, identified new revenue streams, created new branding initiatives, streamlined operations and helped restore profitability to the organization while building world class marketing team.

Prior to her work with Lighthouse International, Ms. Quinn Roddy spent three years as Vice President, Global and Domestic Tourism for NYC & Company, the official tourism office for New York City, where she spearheaded global marketing initiatives to dramatically revive tourism to New York City after 9/11. Her background also includes more than 20 years with Delta Air Lines in a variety of general management and marketing roles in the US, Europe, India and Asia. After an extensive international career with Delta, Ms. Quinn Roddy was tapped to return to New York City where she developed marketing, branding, and corporate social responsibility platforms supporting Delta in a $1.4 billion sales region.

Ms. Quinn Roddy, who starts with the organization on December 1, is a dynamic leader who throughout her career has implemented innovative strategies for organizational branding, repositioning, change, and growth in global and domestic markets.  She is a board member of six professional organizations and has sat on the boards of the American heart Association, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, NYC & Company’s Executive Committee and the US Chambers of Commerce in Ireland, Belgium and the United Kingdom. Fluent in French, she holds a degree in Anthropology and from SUNY Stonybrook and also studied for several years at the Sorbonne in Paris.  She is currently completing her MBA.  Ms. Quinn Roddy is a US citizen and also holds a passport from the Republic of Ireland. She is married to Eugene Roddy and has a son Conor, who is three years old.
