Mimi Daly Larson joined Scholarship America in 2011, bringing with her more than 20 years of experience in all aspects of marketing and fundraising. She’s had a growing career in marketing and fundraising positions in a variety of nonprofit organizations, including twice holding the position of Vice President of Marketing for the largest social service organization in Minnesota, Greater Twin Cities United Way.
In addition, she led her own consulting practice for 12 years, providing strategic planning, change management, constituent engagement programs, brand strategy, integrated marketing and fundraising campaigns, and public relations and crisis communications services for both nonprofit and for-profit clients. She served as the lead consultant to launch United Way’s Early Learning Initiative, a fundraising, policy and advocacy effort which eventually led to statewide policy changes to improve early learning access, affordability and outcomes. She is also a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) with significant experience in all aspects of building a successful resource development program.
Mimi has served on the boards of several non-profit organizations and has done consulting projects for boards, leadership teams, and human resources, community affairs, and resource development departments in both the nonprofit and for profit sectors. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Speech Communications from Macalester College and a Mini-MBA in Nonprofit Leadership from the University of St. Thomas, and currently serves on the board of a local foundation. She is an active participant in local and national politics and has consulted on three state level campaigns, one congressional campaign and served as campaign manager for two municipal races.
Mimi regularly serves as a guest speaker on various topics related to Marketing, Resource Development, Nonprofit Leadership and Higher Education Financing. She and her husband live in Eagan with their four daughters.
