Support Scholarship America's 2015 Education Dinner

Scholarship America mobilizes support for students getting into and graduating from college. To highlight our work and celebrate supporters, we are hosting our 2015 Education Dinner, presented by Voya Financial. The event will be held on May 19, 2015 at Washington, D.C.'s National Press Club, and we invite all who are interested in higher education to consider participating as a sponsor. Read the details below, download the 2015 Education Dinner Sponsorship Overview or contact Marian Marchese (215.459.6085 / mmarchese@scholarshipamerica.org), for more information on sponsorships.

Purpose
The purpose of this important event, chaired by Rod Martin, CEO of Voya Financial (formerly ING U.S.), will be to highlight inspiring students who are on the path to completing their postsecondary degrees, and to honor those who have made a significant impact in helping students pursue and achieve their educational dreams.

Highlights

  • Celebrating the inaugural class of recipients of the new Scholarship America Dream Award program and announcing the next class of scholarship winners. These are students with truly inspiring stories, and deserving of the spotlight and support to continue on their path to success.
  • Honoring select organizations and individuals who have made a difference in postsecondary access and completion through financial support, innovative and impactful programs, and/or the ability to spotlight and influence change on a national scale. The evening's honorees will include Katie Couric, former news anchor and talk show host; Donald Graham, former publisher of the Washington Post; and the General Motors Foundation's Buick Achievers Scholarship Program.
  • Providing a brief, inspiring and informative keynote speech from a VIP leader in the higher education arena.

Details

Scheduled to be held in the spring of 2015 in the Washington D.C. metro area, planning of the event details and logistics is well underway. As volunteer co-chairs, honorees and lead sponsors are secured, the exact date and location of the event will be determined, per their availability and preferences.

Initial plans include an evening beginning at 6:00 p.m., with a VIP reception, cocktail reception, and dinner, and an inspiring program honoring students and those whose dedication and generosity are making a difference for students and the future of our country.
