Software Engineer

Position Summary/Purpose:
Participate in the development and deployment of internal and external applications. The developer will work in a team environment and contribute to upgrades and maintenance for our existing systems as well as the development of new applications.

Design and build software programs in response to application requirements.

Adhere to programming standards and quality assurance guidelines.

Document work per standards for maintainability.

Modify web sites using appropriate software tools.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum requirements in terms of educational background work experience, licenses/certifications or other knowledge, skills and abilities.
- BS/BA in Information Technology or equivalent and 4+ years in IT
- Experience in design, coding and unit testing of scalable, distributed, fault-tolerant web applications in a Windows environment.
- Strong working knowledge of relational databases including Oracle & SQL Server.
- Basic Windows system administration skills.
- Knowledge of Apache, HTML, PHP, and Perl.
- Experience with Subversion or other source control tools.
- Knowledge of MVC design patterns a plus.
- Good team player, able to drive resolution of competing architectural design.
- Self-disciplined in a development environment that requires unit testing, documentation, adherence to coding standards and naming conventions.
- Attention to detail, highly self-motivated.
- Strong troubleshooting skills.
