Current Employment OpportunitiesIT: Director of Application Development Advancement: Project Manager, National Disaster Relief Fund
Director of Application Development Scholarship America, a national nonprofit private sector scholarship organization, is seeking a talented Director of Application Development to work out of our St. Peter, Minnesota office. Primary responsibilities include providing leadership, performance management and guidance to staff on all aspects of Application Development. The Director will oversee the department workload to ensure timely, high-quality work. He or she will provide general technical direction on design, performance, problem resolution, security, recoverability and database access, and interface with all areas of the organization to ensure applications meet all business requirements. Successful candidates will possess a 4-year degree in IT or equivalent work experience, be proficient with System Development Life Cycle; possess 10 years of supervisory experience, the ability to multitask and great communication skills. We require a candidate with a minimum of 3 years managing at the director level or equivalent and 5 or more years managing J2EE reqs. Experience w/ Oracle 10g db environment and Oracle RAC preferred. Project Manager: National Disaster Relief Fund Start Date: Open Until Filled The Project Manager, National Disaster Relief Fund, is responsible for project planning, coordination and assisting in the implementation of the national disaster relief fund. Major responsibilities include project management, coordination among participating departments, scheduling donor visits, grant writing and internal and external reporting. This position is instrumental in the development and growth of the National Disaster Relief Fund. Essential Job Duties: This description covers the primary purpose and principal duties of the job. It is not intended to give all details or a step-by-step account of the way each procedure or task is performed and is subject to change as necessary. • Works with the Advancement Team, Scholarship Management Services & Communications to plan, organize and implement activities relating to the National Disaster Relief Fund. • Develops and implements an internal data collection and reporting mechanism to track fund activities. • Coordinates research, identification, and cultivation of donors and prospective donors for significant sources of funding locally and nationally. • Develops proposal schedule, consistently identifying new opportunities. • Schedules and coordinates prospective donor visits. • Prepares, compiles and distributes proposals and reports for prospects and donors. • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required or assigned. Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent Experience plus five or more years demonstrated success in nonprofit fundraising. Advanced degree preferred. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Demonstrated ability to manage staff and contractors. • Demonstrated ability to work with program staff to develop, interpret and articulate program needs aligned with business and strategic plans. • Strong project management skills. • Demonstrated successful grant research and writing experience. • Familiarity and experience with Raisers Edge software preferred.
