Mission Statement
Scholarship America’s mission is to mobilize America, through scholarships and educational support, to make postsecondary success possible for all students.
Scholarship America®
Scholarship America® is a national education service organization that mobilizes support for students getting into and graduating from college. Scholarship America has distributed more than $2.7 billion in scholarship assistance to more than 1.8 million students since 1958. Scholarship America’s programs, which include Dollars for Scholars®, help fund both entry-level and multi-year scholarships, as well as emergency financial grants. More information is available at www.scholarshipamerica.org.
Dollars for Scholars®
Dollars for Scholars®, a program of Scholarship America, is a national network of nearly 1,200 local chapters, driven by local volunteers that help hometown students in 3,800 communities across the country. In addition to raising funds and distributing scholarships for students, chapters also provide assistance with college readiness and the financial aid process.
Scholarship Management Services®
Scholarship Management Services®, a division of Scholarship America, is the leading scholarship services program in the country, helping corporations, foundations and individuals design and administer scholarship and related educational assistance programs.
DreamkeepersSM
Scholarship America’s Dreamkeepers program is designed to help community and open-enrollment colleges keep students from dropping out of school when faced with unexpected financial emergencies.
Collegiate Partners®
Scholarship America’s Collegiate Partners® are postsecondary institutions that pledge to treat scholarships awarded through Scholarship America programs fairly. Many Collegiate Partners are also Matching Partners that match Scholarship America-awarded scholarships for students attending their schools.
Families of Freedom Scholarship Fund®
The Families of Freedom Scholarship Fund, a program of Scholarship America, provides post-high school education funding to financially needy dependents of those killed or disabled in the 9/11 attacks and rescue efforts.
Keeping Dreams Alive
Scholarship America's Dreamkeepers program provides emergency financial assistance to students at community colleges across the country who are faced with unexpected financial crises. These awards -- averaging $500 -- often make the difference between staying in school and dropping out.
Katie Couric Gives Back
All profits from Couric's new book, "The Best Advice I Ever Got," will be donated to Scholarship America, the charity selected by Couric, to further the mission of ensuring education beyond high school for all students.
Our Strategic Plan
2012-2025
Our mission is to make postsecondary education possible for all students; our goal is to assist 750,000 students in completing their education beyond high school by 2025. Our CEO, Lauren Segal, outlines the plan in this video.
