2014 Volunteer of the Year

The 2014 Ralph H. "Cy" Seifert Outstanding Volunteer Award goes to Carol Baker from New York's Oneonta Dollars for Scholars! Under Carol’s leadership, including three terms as the affiliate’s president and continued service as a board member, Oneonta Dollars for Scholars has grown from a simple vision to a sustainable, high-profile organization and an integral member of the Oneonta community.

2014 Affiliate of the Year

The 2014 Dr. Irving A. Fradkin National Affiliate of the Year is Marblehead Dollars for Scholars in Marblehead, Massachusetts! Since 1988, Marblehead Dollars for Scholars has awarded more than $2.5 million in scholarships to students of all backgrounds in the New England coastal town.

2014 Student Volunteer Award

Helen MontieScholarship America's 2014 National Student Volunteer of the Year is Helen Montie of Lincoln, Massachusetts.

Nominated by Lincoln-Sudbury Scholarship Fund Dollars for Scholars, Helen overcame cancer to earn academic honors and become a volunteer leader in her community. She raised nearly $2,300 for cancer research through bike-a-thon participation, and twice served as keynote speaker for the Bedford Relay for Life event. Helen is off to college in fall 2014 to embark on a medical degree -- read her story on our blog!

2014 New Affiliates of the Year

The 2014 H. Stuart and Marlys C. Johnson National New Affiliate of the Year award decision ended in a tie -- we are proud to award both Brushton-Moira Dollars for Scholars of New York and Hope High Dollars for Scholars of Rhode Island!

In just three years of existence, the two affiliates have combined to award nearly $150,000 in scholarships and to establish crucial renewable scholarship programs. Click Learn More to read their stories.
