Based in Jefferson Parish, LA, just outside New Orleans, Jefferson Dollars for Scholars pursues diverse fundraising and award strategies, using events, media coverage and corporate sponsorship to support students throughout their school years. With 42 board members, the chapter has a wide array of expertise, and they strive to continue training and learning at each meeting. "One of our strengths is that, since our inception, Jefferson Dollars for Scholars has been a countywide organization offering access to educational opportunities to students as young as 5," say chapter representatives. "The breadth of our program impacts parents, guardians, and extended families as well as students."

Keeping Dreams Alive
Scholarship America's Dreamkeepers program provides emergency financial assistance to students at community colleges across the country who are faced with unexpected financial crises. These awards -- averaging $500 -- often make the difference between staying in school and dropping out.
Our Strategic Plan
2012-2025
Our mission is to make postsecondary education possible for all students; our goal is to assist 750,000 students in completing their education beyond high school by 2025. Our CEO, Lauren Segal, outlines the plan in this video.
A Dollar A Day
Nearly 1/4 of the U.S. population owes a collective $700 billion in student loan debt. We are committed to helping more students graduate from college with less debt. A gift of just $1 a day -- for a week, for a month, or for a year -- can help ensure that students are able to achieve their goals.
